Close to nature and far removed from everyday life
A small house in a great location.
What's the point of staying in a central location on holiday if your favourite activities aren't right in front of you? With us you will be staying at an altitude of 2,011 metres above sea level, in the idyllic valley head of Senales. What you get out of it: views of the glaciers and imposing three-thousand-metre peaks instead of the wall of the neighbour's hotel. And with immediate access to your favourite holiday activities: hiking, skiing and biking.
The Val Senales is authentic, rustic and not much like the other valleys. Perfect for everyone who prefers peace and tranquillity to the big holiday hustle and bustle around the well-known South Tyrolean holiday resorts.
Maso Corto: the highest town in the Val Senales
If you drive all the way to the end of the Val Senales valley, you will reach the small mountain village of Maso Corto, which is known far beyond the borders for its glacial ski area. The valley station of the glacier cable car, which takes you up to an altitude of 3,200 metres in a matter of minutes, is just a few steps away from the Piccolo Hotel Gurschler. Although the village has remained small and idyllic, you will find everything you expect for a successful holiday in Senales: Shops, restaurants, museums, events, pubs, ski schools, ski, bike and climbing equipment rentals as well as an indoor Olympic swimming pool. Should you still feel like an occasional stroll through town, you can reach the spa town of Merano in 45 minutes by car or comfortably by bus.
Active by (and in) nature
In winter you can ski right up to the hotel. Snowshoe and winter hikes are also possible from the hotel. In summer, absolute tranquillity reigns in the Val Senales valley. The hiking trails are anything but crowded and stretch between impressive valley landscapes, the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park and the Val Senales glacier. You will not only enjoy the scenic delights, but also pass lots of traditional alpine huts.
