SUMMERCARD 2023

The SummerCard is available from 27th may 2023 from your Schnalstal Valley host or in the tourist office. Price: adults: €29.90; children up to their 16th birthday: €15.00; children up to 6 years are free. The SummerCard is valid until 21st october 2023.
With this card you will have the unique opportunity to experience the Schnalstal Glacier, visit the archeoParc museum, discover the valley by public transport from Maso Corto to Naturno and explore the Alta Via di Merano reachable by the Unterstell cable car from Naturno.

GLACIER
Experience the glacier

With the SummerCard, you’ll cover more than a thousand elevation metres in only six minutes. The Schnalstal Valley Glacier train brings guests directly to the highest hotel in Europe, the Glacier Hotel Grawand (3,212 m). From there you can take the chair lift over the 80 ha Hochjochferner glacier. There is an easy circular route over the glacier and along the Austro-Italian border. The village of Maso Corto is accessible on foot along pathway no. 3 which passes by the refuge lodge, Bella Vista (about 3 hours).

ARCHEOPARC
Discover the area where Ötzi lived

The archeoParc is an open-air museum with an interpretative centre at Madonna di Senales in Schnalstal Valley. The story of how and where Ötzi lived 5,300 years ago and of how he was discovered in 1991 on the Schnalstal Glacier will be related inside and outside. Explore the permanent exhibition, the reconstructed building, the dugout bridge and the archery stand and join in all the activities and presentations in the open-air arena. The SummerCard entitles guests to free entry into the archeoParc at Madonna di Senales where the discovery site and the living environment of Ötzi have been faithfully reconstructed.

BUSCARD
Being mobile in Schnalstal Valley

With the SummerCard, travel on the public SAD bus is free throughout the valley, providing easy access to all the villages: Monte S. Caterina, Certosa, Raindl, Madonna di Senales, Vernago, Maso Corto and also the neigbor village Naturno. After a pleasant hike through the Schnalstal Valley or a escursion through Naturno, take the public SAD bus in comfort back to your starting point. The card is valid within the municipal district of Schnalstal Valley and Naturno for your entire stay. UNTERSTELL
Along the Alta Via di Merano

Merano's Alta Via is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the entire Alpine region, along the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park, a fascinating natural and cultural landscape. You can easily walk a part from Monte S. Caterina along the trail nr. 24. Passing old farms to the Unterstell cable car. The SummerCard is valid for a single one-way ticket of the cable car. Directly at the valley station of the cable car is the Naturno/Compaccio bus stop, from there you can take the return journey on the public bus SAD to Schnalstal Valley. The hike is possible also from Unterstell to Monte S. Caterina.
